"Mended" was a broken song for a while, but we fixed it. It was written about a comfortable relationship that had gone stale, and questioning whether to stay or leave. However, it ended up as a song about the tempestuous relationships Helen had with a few Guitar players who had played in TCOH!
lyrics
Mended
You know I could just find another one,
But another one might just need me to mend the things I just fixed with you.
You think I’m crazy when I’m screaming with this constant threat of leaving,
But believe me cause it’s true.
Why so surprised?
Sometimes love isn’t enough to get you through this life,
A man can cry, you don’t shed a tear, don’t shed a tear
But I don’t care cause...
You know I could just find another one,
But another one might just need me to mend the things I just fixed with you.
You think I’m crazy when I’m screaming I’m leaving you
I say good bye
Anticipating a last kiss I don’t know why,
I never saw you cry, not a tear, not a tear, not one tear
But I don’t care cause...
You know I could just find another one,
But another one might just need me to mend the things I just fixed with you.
You think I’m crazy when I’m screaming I’m leaving you
You’re out the door
Presuming I’m the type to break down on the floor,
But I’ve been here before so I won’t cry, I won’t die
And I really don’t care cause...
I know I could just find another one,
But another one might just need me to mend the things I just fixed with you.
You think I’m crazy when I’m screaming I’m leaving you
I know I could just find another one,
But another one might just need me to mend the things I just fixed with you.
